A brief history of the area
Hillcrest is built on land once owned by William Gillitt, after whom the nearby suburb of Gillitts was named. The land was once a portion of Gillitt's farm, which was named "Albinia". A major building boom took place in Hillcrest in the late 1990s and 2000s, transforming the area from a sleepy country village into a bustling property hotspot.

While winter evenings in July and August can get cold, dropping to lows of approximately 7ºC, the highs will be around 20ºC during the day. The hottest months of the year, January to March, will regularly see the mercury rising into the low to mid 30s during the heat of the day.
